Nu är Lucia välkommen!/We are ready for you Lucia!

Nu är jag helt slut. Genom ett mirakel visade det sig att min deadline inte var så tidig som jag trodde och tyckte då att jag fick MASSOR av tid över! Träna, 2 satser lussebullar, slå in paket, städa, hjälpa en vän med layout… allt dettta på några timmar. Nu kom jag på att jag missat en deadline som jag glömt bort och har visst en i morgon också… Energin tog plötsligt slut. Men oj vad vi är redo för söndagens Lucia nu!

I’m done. I found out that I had some sparetime and wanted to do as much housework I could! Including work out and wrapping gifts. Just now I realized that I’ve missed a deadline and have one tomorrow. Back to work. But we are sure ready for Lucia on sunday!

Skynda, skynda! / Hurry, hurry!

Idag lottar signerat.se ut min djungelposter i sin kalender! Skynda, skynda. Det är bara idag! Nu vill jag att huset ska fyllas med lukten av pepparkakor och lussebullar och någon liten dam (jag vet inte varför jag föreställer mig just det) som kommer hit och STÄDAR. Snart folket, är det jul…

Layoutfabriken / Layout factory.

Två månader. Så länge sedan är det jag uppdaterade. Vad kan hända på två månader egentligen? Mycket. Och inget, hur man nu väljer att se på det. Jag har haft fullt upp med layout. Ett omslag har blivit flera. En tidning har blivit massor. Som en liten fabrik är det här på kontoret. Men inga nya posters är gjorda, inga brickor producerade… men en del böcker illustrerade och posters beställda! Missade liksom hela julhandeln, men nästa år! Då ni. Då ska ni få se Lenatomtar överallt och brickor ni bara inte kan motstå ge bort till alla ni känner! Tills dess: kolla in signerat.se, där finns massor av fina saker. Och kika in min blog i morgon då jag kommer länka er vidare till en utlottning!

It’s been two months since my last update! Layout work is taking all my time. My first cover is now history and there is more to come. I’ll be back with new work when I find the time!

Autumn leaves.

It always makes me sad when I see the tourists leave (even though I swear everytime I go to buy provisions because of the queues…), the beaches are now empty and you can walk in and out of the shops without problems…  (exactly WHAT is my problem here..?) The summer time passes way to quickly! But hey! Now we can light the fire, go outside when we WANT (not because the sun is shining and you HAVE to, otherwise you get an awfully bad conscience…) and we have an excuse to drink whiskey. Because it’s damned cold outside!

I got this with the post today. Illustratörcentrums catalogue of illustrators and graphic designers. And it looks good! It’s exiting to see all fellow colleagues out there and the work they do so excellent! Happy friday everyone!!

Lena goes Julia-style.

I’ve been doing portraits of my colleagues at Julia-magazine for a while now. They have them on the last page in the magazine, complete with name and e-mail. A few days ago I got an order to do myself Julia-style. Because (if you don’t already know) I’m  working with the layout for a few magazines at Egmont (such as OKEJ and Julia+) and I’m going to end up at the last page as well! My minutes of fame… It’s not easy to draw your own portrait! You know the smallest flaws, each and every one of them! But here it is!

I got it with the post last week, the last cover I did a few months ago for a series of books published by Argument Förlag. I like the green shades. It turned out fine.

Summer sulking.

I’m sulking. It turns out I have no vacation this year. None. But I’m trying to be good about it. I’m trying not to whine. If I whine I give in. Because I’m GLAD I have work! GLAD! I think that if I had a “work-less” summer vacation I would whine about it, feel depressed and wonder if I ever would work again and just close down. That’s why I haven’t been doing any updating of the blog. I’m blessed with work! And I’m GLAD. Yes, I am!

Resting days.

We are heading towards summerbreak. I have a lot of work to do, but these days I feel a little bit… lazy. Or maybe I’m just taking a deep breath.

Look what the postman brought!

A few days ago this arrived with the post. Oh, how I miss real letters and parcels! Written by hand with a message just for you. Lisen Adbåge is one of my favorite artists and this is her book, written and illustrated by her own self! I love it so much, it has a place in MY bookshelf. Camping in CPHN. Part two.

We found the nicest places to stop for something to eat! Usually, this is one of my hangups – to find a cosy (read: perfect) place with good food! If you ever go to Copenhagen I can recommend jazz Kaelderen, they have a cafe where they serve wonderful sandwiches and lovely coffee! We also ate the finest Ceasar sallad at cafe Paludan. AND! We had the luck to eat the best sushi we ever had at Sushi Treat. There. Enough about food.

We visited DDC, Danish Design Museum. Took a stroll on “Ströget”, bought presents to our boys and went to stores without cranky kids whining: I don’t want to be here! Thanks my love for those relieving days.

And now, back to work!

CPHN/Denmark

We went on a inspiration trip to Copenhagen. Well, I think it was more an escape from family life. Just for a moment, we were just Two. A married Two. On our OWN. It was magical; Lunch with a glass of WINE, a coffee that lasted for an hour and visits to art museums! We stayed at Hotel Fox, which I strongly recommend!  Our room was designed by Rinzen, which contained a tent! It was indeed a happy camping. Here are some of those moments:

It’s amazing how I get visitors to this blog even when I’m not updating! I’m very grateful for those. My work takes my time theese days. I’ve also been very unactive reading other blogs, leaving traces like a comment. I’m sorry all you my favorites. But look, look! I’ve been busy with bookcovers, illustrations and layout. And I found this fantastic illustration from 1970’s Ford advertising brochure! Enjoy.
