I’m sulking. It turns out I have no vacation this year. None. But I’m trying to be good about it. I’m trying not to whine. If I whine I give in. Because I’m GLAD I have work! GLAD! I think that if I had a “work-less” summer vacation I would whine about it, feel depressed and wonder if I ever would work again and just close down. That’s why I haven’t been doing any updating of the blog. I’m blessed with work! And I’m GLAD. Yes, I am!

We are heading towards summerbreak. I have a lot of work to do, but these days I feel a little bit… lazy. Or maybe I’m just taking a deep breath.

A few days ago this arrived with the post. Oh, how I miss real letters and parcels! Written by hand with a message just for you. Lisen Adbåge is one of my favorite artists and this is her book, written and illustrated by her own self! I love it so much, it has a place in MY bookshelf. In MY office… Check her out: www.lisenadbage.com

We found the nicest places to stop for something to eat! Usually, this is one of my hangups – to find a cosy (read: perfect) place with good food! If you ever go to Copenhagen I can recommend jazz Kaelderen, they have a cafe where they serve wonderful sandwiches and lovely coffee! We also ate the finest Ceasar sallad at cafe Paludan. AND! We had the luck to eat the best sushi we ever had at Sushi Treat. There. Enough about food.
We visited DDC, Danish Design Museum. Took a stroll on “Ströget”, bought presents to our boys and went to stores without cranky kids whining: I don’t want to be here! Thanks my love for those relieving days.
And now, back to work!

We went on a inspiration trip to Copenhagen. Well, I think it was more an escape from family life. Just for a moment, we were just Two. A married Two. On our OWN. It was magical; Lunch with a glass of WINE, a coffee that lasted for an hour and visits to art museums! We stayed at Hotel Fox, which I strongly recommend! Our room was designed by Rinzen, which contained a tent! It was indeed a happy camping. Here are some of those moments:

It’s amazing how I get visitors to this blog even when I’m not updating! I’m very grateful for those. My work takes my time theese days. I’ve also been very unactive reading other blogs, leaving traces like a comment. I’m sorry all you my favorites. But look, look! I’ve been busy with bookcovers, illustrations and layout. And I found this fantastic illustration from 1970’s Ford advertising brochure! Enjoy.

Being a parent of two wild boys you get tired… Before kids you could go on and party all night long, and the most important thing: you could be impulsive. If the neighbour invited you to a Black Sabbath night with a twist you said OK, even if you hated B.S (and wondered what the twist were all about)… because, what the heck, you could meet some very interesting people. With kids you get very picky regarding who you spend time with. Because you want quality. There’s no time for Black Sabbath when you loathe that kind of music. There’s no TIME! You’re to tired! TV and a silent glass of wine means so much more than headbanging through the night.
I’m a grown up. Yes, I am.
With a twist.

Translation: – Damn it! Com on in! – Nah, got to get home. The babysitter might eat all the candy.

I want to evolve. All the time. Sometimes it makes me stressed, but once I get started with a new project I can’t stop. But the time before can be horrible. Maybe that’s how it’s like being in a working process. I love my work, I really do. But when you decide that you want to work creatively, you say goodbye to silence. Or maybe thats just in my head… because I work all the time. Even if I’m not. Is it just me? Can you meditate? Really, really, clear your head during a period of time?
I must get better with coloring. So here we go!

Last friday me and a friend took a trip to see cows and tractors. We had our children with us. They love tractors. I love food. My friends mom had made this wonderful stew with moose and wild pig! What else can you eat when you’re visiting a farm? On our way home we stopped at a flea market. I found a lamp for my sons room and my son found theese… men. Which reminded me of village people.

… my son asked when we went for a walk (well, the kids ran with the dog, we ran after) in the forest this weekend… I can’t blame him. We live in a nonforest area. Öland is flat, with a few exceptions. This is just outside Malmö, called “Bokskogen”, or “Birchwoods” directly translated.
This is the awakening. Just before spring explodes. Take a look at the purple birches. It’s here now. Spring.

Somedays you shouldn’t even have gone out of bed… My brain doesn’t work today, I even told my body to go for a walk – it just didn’t! Somedays you should just lay in bed… thinking it’s OK to be anti-creative.

I went to a big flea-market on Wednesday. I don’t lie when I say that the old people there actually pushed me aside! And they didn’t listen to what I had to say about it! They just kept on taking whatever they saw, mostly easter decorations. But hey! Don’t you have a LIFETIME of ester decorations AT HOME?! Should I get really really mad or just laugh about it? I laughed. I just couldn’t lower my self to their level…
While I had the opportunity I grabbed a few things and ran! But look how bright and happy my table looks.
